Olivia Tuck
Sussex-Based Still Life Painter
My work is rooted in the quiet, tactile intimacy of domestic life. I paint familiar objects—lobsters on floral china, croissants on a breakfast table, fresh fish on patterned linens—not as passive still lifes, but as portals into memory, ritual, and care. These scenes speak to the private theatre of the everyday: the quiet moments that repeat, shift, and accumulate significance over time.
I work instinctively and boldly with colour and texture, building each image with expressive brushwork and careful observation. The tables I paint are often messy, layered, and lived-in, echoing the emotional richness of shared meals and solitary mornings. I’m drawn to how beauty resides in these small rituals—in the cup of tea, the meal preparation, the arrangement of flowers.
Though the compositions are carefully constructed, they resist idealization. There’s a kind of tension in these paintings: between indulgence and absence, tradition and spontaneity, the decorative and the raw. In capturing the fleeting, I hope to make it linger and elevate its importance.

Meet The Framers
I have worked with husband-and-wife team at Bespoke Framing for almost a decade. The relationship I have with them is an essential part of my creative process. Their attention to detail and craftsmanship allows my work to be presented exactly how I envision it—clean, considered, and elevated without distraction.
We collaborate closely on each piece, discussing how the frame can complement the colours and energy of the work without overpowering it. It’s a partnership built on trust and shared appreciation for the final outcome. The results are often exciting and always of the highest quality. For me, the frame is more than a protective vessel for a painting, it is an extension of the artwork itself.
